Are All Solar Contractors Licensed the Same?

Solar contractors generally carry one of two main licenses. A C-46 Solar Contractor and the other being a C-10 Electricians License. Generally speaking, the C-10 is considered superior to the C-46. The C-10 is much more extensive when it comes to electrical.

Fuzion Home Services holds three important licenses: a C-10 Electrician license, a C-20 HVAC license, and a General “B” Contractor License. These let us take care of many home projects for you, such as solar power, heating, and air conditioning, patios, new roofs, pools, turf, and many more. And you can pay for all of it with just one loan.

We don’t just sell you home solar power and then hand off the job to someone else. We sell it, permit it, and install solar all ourselves. That means we don’t need to hire other companies to be our installation company for our solar systems.

This ensures that we have complete control over the entire process, from start to finish. With our C-10 Electrical Contractor License (“Licensing Classifications”), we have the expertise to handle all electrical aspects of your solar installation. Whether it’s wiring the panels or connecting them to your home’s electrical system, our licensed electricians will ensure a safe and efficient installation.

Our C-20 HVAC license (“CSLB”) allows us to take care of your heating and air conditioning needs. We understand that having a comfortable home is important, and our team of licensed HVAC technicians can ensure that your heating and cooling systems are running smoothly alongside your solar panels.

Additionally, our General “B” Contractor License (“CSLB”) enables us to handle any other home projects you may have. From roof repairs to home renovations, we have the skills and qualifications to tackle a wide range of projects. By choosing Fuzion Home Services, you can have peace of mind knowing that all your home improvement needs can be taken care of by one reliable and licensed contractor.

Quality Training, Helps Limit Install Issues

All of our solar panel installers, solar battery installers, or anyone that is working on your solar energy system are all Enphase Certified Installers, and in some cases, Certified Enphase Battery Technicians. One individual being certified doesn’t ensure a quality install. We go to great lengths to ensure our installers have passed certifications for the products we are installing. Our newly hired solar installers go through a minimum of 20 hours of training before they even leave the office to work in the warehouse.

In 2023 we established a training platform for our installers and technicians. All employees within those job fields are required to pass these qualification tests and become certified.

Why Can’t Your Unlicensed Friend Install Your Solar?

Well they can, but most likely not legally, and could limit your production. Are you interested in getting the federal solar tax credit? There are only a few primary requirements: 1) January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2034, 2) It must be installed at a residence of yours in the United States, 3) You own the system, or have purchased interest in an offsite community system.

However, if you want to receive credit for excess solar you produce during the day to offset your night time use. A licensed contractor is usually required to do the work. The utility companies are also going to require signed off jobs cards. These must be purchased from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) otherwise known as your local permitting office. If you want to lower your electric bill you will need to have your Permission to Operate (PTO) paperwork submitted. At Fuzion Home Services, we submit all this paperwork on your behalf.

Furthermore, we offer the convenience of financing all of these services with just one loan. Instead of dealing with multiple lenders and payment plans, you can streamline the process and simplify your finances. Our team can guide you through the financing options available and help you choose the best solution for your budget.
